A catch-all feature that is activated for a particular mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you deactivate an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any misspelled email address under the exact same domain name, you will get the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be crucial in case you are running a business, for example. Since you may start receiving unsolicited bulk emails, you can use the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters so as to get only legitimate email messages in your inbox. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
In case you have a Linux website hosting package with our company and you wish to activate the catch-all feature for a given email mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally only one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have created under any domain name registered in your account. You can choose one single address per domain name by clicking on the corresponding button. This will activate the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be created with several clicks in case you have a Linux semi-dedicated package with us. The semi-dedicated account will be managed through our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up mailboxes with any domain registered here. To enable the catch-all option for a certain mailbox, you’ll need to click on the symbol with the same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be done in the same fashion and will not take more than a click either. In case a catch-all mailbox has already been enabled for a specific domain name, you’ll get a warning notice. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never replace or disable anything automatically.
